Technical Content Creator

Job Description

JOSA, a Jordanian social enterprise that loves all things open source, is looking for a clever, geeky, and creatively caffeinated Technical Content Creator to join our team.

Are you always one browser tab away from your next big idea? Are you the type of person who explains kernel panics with memes? Does ranting about why Arch Linux users tweak everything just for the bragging rights make you want to write a blog post in Markdown at 2AM? If yes—this might be your dream gig.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate complex technical concepts into engaging and accessible content for other geeks, nerds, and curious minds.
• Create short-form posts and video scripts, and humor-driven explainers on everything from open-source software to obscure tech lore like TempleOS.
• Research online trends, cool online stuff.
• Develop content for social media, websites, and other platforms, often involving cats, robots, or both.
• Collaborate with our team members and other JOSAns to make the stuff they say understandable to mortals.
• Contribute to campaigns and community outreach by bringing humor, clarity, and the occasional ASCII art to the table.
• Optionally and occasionally record voiceovers, podcasts, or videos if you’re up for it (no pressure—we’re awkward too).
• Other unexpected-but-fun tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passionate about open-source technology, internet culture, and sharing knowledge.
• Experience writing or creating technical (as technology-related) content for blogs, social media, or newsletters.
• IT / Computer Science students/graduates —or you’ve just been breaking things on GitHub since you were 12.
• Excellent writing skills in both Arabic and English (bonus points for using Oxford commas correctly and writing “sudo” with reverence).
• Ability to distill technical jargon into non-cringe, funny, and geek-approved content.
• Familiarity with meme culture, online communities, and niche references.
• Bonus: You actually enjoy documentation. 🫡

REPORTING

The Technical Content Creator reports to the Communications Officer.
