Job Description
JOSA is a Jordanian social enterprise dedicated to open source technology for social good. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance Officer.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for the financial health and successful growth of JOSA. The tasks and duties are divided as follows:
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across organizational and project-level accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership and donors.
- Develop, monitor, and revise budgets for JOSA and its programs.
- Manage grants' financial compliance, including tracking burn rates, preparing financial reports, and ensuring expenditures align with approved grant budgets and donor or client requirements.
- Support accounting, general ledger, and operations functions, ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee compliance, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic input to support organizational planning and leadership decision-making.
- Develop and improve internal financial policies, processes, and controls.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, contractors, and donor representatives for financial and compliance purposes.
- Build financial literacy across program and operations teams to support effective project budget management.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passionate about JOSA’s mission and values.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Applicants with a different academic background are welcome to apply if accompanied by substantial relevant experience.
- Experience in financial management within civil society organizations, donor-funded projects, or the ICT sector.
- Knowledge of financial and management accounting principles and familiarity with relevant reporting standards.
- Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) are an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Clear, effective communication skills in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
REPORTING
The Finance Officer reports to the Executive Director.
