Between 2019 and 2022, over 17,000 cybercrime cases were reported to Jordan’s Cybercrime Unit; mostly related to impersonation, doxxing, defamation, data theft, account hacking, and online threats1. And according to the unit, cybercrimes saw a noticeable rise in 2023 due to increased reliance on digital platforms for commerce and growing public awareness of the importance of reporting incidents. While no official statistics have been released for 2023 or 2024, cybercrime remains a persistent and evolving threat to internet users.
At JOSA, we are organizing a digital security training for university students to strengthen their awareness and practical skills in navigating today’s digital threats. The training combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on exercises to equip participants with the tools they need to stay safe and secure online.
